Google Turns 20 Today, What a Glorious Journey!

The Google is one of the world-renowned organizations known for its internet-based services and products. There are very few people who don’t know about Google and their services. The Google has been around for 20 years and they have practically infiltrated to everything technological. The technological sectors that Google has touched have become profitable for them. This is the main reason that people trust Google is because of the services that Google can deliver reliably.

The digital solutions that Google came up with are exceptional and have helped many individuals and organizations in achieving what the desired. The development of software solutions for the development of operating systems such as Android Google has really revolutionized the technological world. The Google has also released a new line of mobile devices which showed the power of the Android operating system. The Google had a glorious journey which led to what it is today. Since its inception it has changed a lot and here is a brief view on its journey.

The beginning

The Google began in January 1996 as a research project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin who were PhD students during that time at Stanford University. They both decided to design a system that could display results from the complete internet for a searched keyword. This result was able to arrange by itself based on the backlinks on the website which was the reason it was named Backrub in the initial stage.

Commercial initiation

The Google used to run on Stanford servers previously during development. The Google registered the domain name in September 1997 and the organization was incorporated on September 4, 1998, but the official date of establishment was set on 27th September 1998. The Google was funded by many tech celebrities such as Jeff Bezos (founder of Amazon), Andy Bechtolsheim (co-founder of Sun Microsystems), Stanford professors, etc.

Growth of Google

The Google founders decided to sell Google many times during the initial stages for $1 million dollars and even $750,000 later but were rejected. Later they decided to work together and started selling their shares in a public offering. There were many Google employees and other famous businesses such as Yahoo who decided to buy the shares which proven beneficial during 2004 when the market capitalization of Google went to $23 billion USD. This growth was then consistent when the market capital crossed $400 billion USD during 2014.

Present and Future

The Google at present is included in the list of profitable businesses and is also actively participating in charity. The reins of Google are now with the current CEO Sundar Pichai and CFO Ruth Porat where they employ over 88,000 individuals worldwide. Apart from that, it accommodated new technologies which can create employment for many individuals around the world. Google conducts many events to keep the tech community up to date with the latest technologies. The Latest Google Event was conducted back in May 2018 which showed many great new technologies such as revamped Android OS, new exciting tools for Android App Development, new Android apps, etc.

The Google is still working on the same principals and mission based on which Google was founded. They wish to make all data easily accessible to the users. They wish to innovate more in the sectors that they are working on whether it is Android, Cloud solutions, hardware development, etc.
