Google, after its Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, has stated the next version (i.e. Android 7.0 Nougat) of its OS and only the entitled devices will get the OTA updates after the official announcement made by the company. The latest version of Android will bring some extensive modifications in the internal software. Android Nougat is finally out now and it includes many exciting new features like multi-window, bundled notifications, direct replies, Daydream VR, emoticons, etc.
Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X will obviously get the updates first, followed by different OEMs.
Below is the list of mobile devices that are confirmed and can expect to get the Android Nougat update.
Android 7.0 Nougat update and HTC smartphones
The high-end HTC smartphones would receive the latest Android update to the software as confirmed by HTC. HTC might take few months of time after the final (public) launch of Android Nougat before it updates these smartphones. HTC is presently unclear whether devices like the HTC One M8 or HTC Desire 530 would receive the updates or not. The confirmed devices to get the update are: HTC 10, HTC One A9, HTC One M9 and HTC Nexus 9.
Android 7.0 Nougat update and Samsung smartphones
The update for the next Android version has not been confirmed by Samsung yet. But possibilities are there that the flagship smartphones of Samsung will certainly get the new update. The confirmed devices to get the update are: Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
Android 7.0 Nougat update and Sony smartphones
Sony has confirmed the Android update for its group of Z series smartphones. Other devices will probably get the update later. The confirmed devices to get the update are: Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Compact.
Android 7.0 Nougat update and Motorola smartphones
Motorola – a former mobile division of Google used to update their devices with the latest versions promptly before other manufacturers. The Nexus 6 will receive the update first and then other devices too. The confirmed devices to get the update are: Nexus 6, Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4, Moto G4 Play, Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto X Force, Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx2.
Android 7.0 Nougat update and OnePlus smartphones
OnePlus will also get the latest Android update to their flagship smartphones. The confirmed devices to get the update are: OnePlus 3, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X.
Other than the above mentioned smartphones, the update will also be available for Android One Smartphones like: Cherry Mobile G1, Lava Pixel, Karbonn Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO and Infinix Hot 2. Also, the latest ASUS smartphones and several new Lenovo devices will get the update too. Apart from the above devices, many more devices will probably get the update.
